A fascination with transformation is what binds them; in Uri’s profession, it manifests itself in more physical forms, while Engin works in the business ecosystems that surround change.

I recently interviewed Amsterdam-based architect Uri Gilad (partner at Office Winhov) and Anomaly partner and chief executive, Engin Celikbas. We talked about the dynamic role of architecture in Amsterdam as we went on an architectural tour of the city, from the Wibautstraat in East, also known as the Knowledge Mile (stopping to admire the transformed buildings that now house the Volkshotel and the Student Hotel) to far the Jan Evertsenstraat in West and back to the new W Hotel and X Bank shop in the city center.
