Like a London Local

PHOTO JOURNAL

Any excuse to visit London, I'm there! Just a short flight from Amsterdam means that I travel to London quite frequently. A few years ago, I counted four visits in just eight months. This last time was to celebrate my sister's graduation from medical school, and we stayed in a lovely neighborhood around London Fields in the height of summer.

It was a wonderful time to be in London; while the houses were covered in greenery, flowers popped out above garden fences. The park was busy with sunbathers, bbq-ers, and post-Broadway Market wanderers. We found refuge in iced coffees from Climpson and Sons, takeaway sweets from Violets, devoured a delicious brunch at Victoria's Park and enjoyed the breeze while on a walk along Regent's Canal, joined the crowds at Columbia Road Flower Market and marveled at the impressive amount of plants at Conservatory Archives. We'll be back soon, London! For more photos from London, check out my Instagram photos at #londonwithmae
